Sanyo Heavy Industries | Call for Action: “Practice Strict Economy and Oppose Waste”

Frugality and thrift are time-honored virtues of the Chinese nation and also the intrinsic driving force behind our company’s development and progress.

To All Employees of Sanyo Heavy Industries Group:

Frugality and thrift are time-honored virtues of the Chinese nation and also the intrinsic driving force behind our company’s development and progress. Just as Mount Tai does not reject any soil and rivers and seas do not discriminate against even the smallest streams, every individual’s small act of saving can accumulate into a major step forward for the enterprise. At present, our company is in a critical period of reform and development, calling on all employees to unite as one, start with small actions, and uphold the spirit of frugality and thrift. To this end, we hereby issue a call to all staff: “Practice strict economy and oppose waste.” The specific details are as follows:

0 1

Promote self-disciplined resource-conserving behavior

1. Conserve Electricity
Turn off lights whenever possible—lights should be switched off when people leave—to eliminate the practice of leaving lights on unnecessarily. Make full use of natural lighting; where natural light is sufficient, refrain from turning on indoor lighting, and minimize energy consumption in entryways, hallways, and passageways. When office and household electrical equipment such as computer towers, monitors, and water dispensers are left unattended for extended periods or after work, be sure to switch them off to reduce electricity usage and prevent fire hazards. Use air conditioners properly by setting the temperature appropriately, and ensure that air conditioning is not left running in unoccupied rooms or after working hours.

2. Conserve Water
Eliminate running water; use water resources wisely; promptly turn off any faucet that is leaking, dripping, or otherwise wasting water; and report any damage to the management department without delay to minimize water loss.

3. Conserve Food

Cherish the fruits of labor and champion the “Clean Plate Campaign.” Actively promote a culture of dining etiquette by practicing food conservation: order only what you can eat, avoid over-ordering, and refrain from wasting food. As the saying goes, “Every bowl of porridge and every meal should remind us how hard-won they are; every thread and every scrap of fabric should remind us of the arduous effort required to produce them.”

4. Conserve Paper
Promote the use of both sides of paper, vigorously advance paperless office operations, and make full use of online resources and email to replace paper-based workflows.

0 2

Strengthen the accountability system for resource conservation.

We must firmly establish a mindset of diligence and frugality, fully appreciate the profound significance of upholding these values, foster a cultural climate in which thrift is honored and waste is shameful, and ensure that resource conservation becomes an integral part of every department and every job, with everyone sharing responsibility and taking ownership.

Saving resources is not merely a habit—it is also a social responsibility. Let each of us act promptly and actively participate in initiatives to conserve food, water, and electricity, consciously embracing the ethos of thrift and frugality in both our work and daily lives. Together, let us join hands and pool our efforts, starting today and beginning with small, everyday actions, to cherish every single resource. By setting an example for our colleagues and those around us, we can inspire others to follow suit, ensuring that each of us becomes a role model for resource conservation and contributing to the healthy, sustainable development of our organization!

Let us constantly promote the ethos of civility and uphold the virtue of thrift in all aspects of our lives, using a commendable corporate culture to set a positive example for society and making active contributions to the comprehensive display of our society’s spiritual civilization. For the sake of our shared home, let us take action!
